It’s not for the reasons I thought though.
So, it’s a weird era for me, and I thought Tinder might be the best way to cast a wide net. However, it was a disastrous attempt.
On one hand, I’d been avoiding it for years, as it is the most popular but fraught dating app. I thought, maybe now, bigger would be better. But my original profile, which was quite correct about the specific type of sexual relationship I wanted — was banned nearly immediately. I tried to use photos that weren’t identifiable as well, and that set off alarms.
I thought that was what it was for!
Weird that there are SO many dating apps though…
But the real killjoy was the technology issues. I could not get access to anyone to message, despite allegedly having hundreds of likes. I only messaged one person successfully back and forth with replies, and one person where a message went through.
I did all the things, including “SuperLikes” and upgrading to Tinder Gold. Honestly the whole thing seemed like a way to give the bare minimum while encouraging upgrades to paid constantly.
